จากเหตุการณ์ไฟฟ้าดับที่บมจ.กสท โทรคมนาคม (CAT) เมื่อสัปดาห์ก่อนสืบเนื่องจากเหตุการณ์ทางการเมือง แม้ว่าลูกค้าและระบบของ HostPacific.com จะไม่ได้รับผลกระทบอย่างใด แต่ระบบอินเทอร์เน็ตในประเทศก็มีการสะดุดและทำงานช้าลง รวมทั้งบริการต่างๆ ที่พึ่งพาระบบของ CAT ใช้การไม่ได้ตั้งแต่หลายชั่วโมงถึงเกินวัน
ตั้งแต่เหตุการณ์น้ำท่วมใหญ่ จนถึงเหตุการณ์ข้างต้น ทำให้บริษัทริเริ่มโครงการเพื่อความปลอดภัยหลายๆ อย่าง ทั้งที่ได้แจ้งและไม่ได้แจ้งให้กับลูกค้าทั่วไป ในโอกาสล่าสุดนี้ บริษัทได้ทำการติดตั้ง Cloud DNS อยู่บน HostPacific Cloud (TH) และที่ US-West และ Asia-SG เพื่อให้บริการ DNS ฟรีกับลูกค้า Shared Hosting ทุกราย (รวมทั้ง Reseller และ Account ต่างๆ ภายใต้นั้น) ลูกค้าที่เกี่ยวข้องสามารถแก้ไข Nameserver โดยมาใช้ NS ต่อไปนี้แทนเดิมคือ
NS1 = dns13.hostpacific.com (27.254.36.48) TH
NS2 = dns15.hostpacific.com (128.199.255.129) SG
NS3 = dns17.hostpacific.com (192.241.225.251) US
ข้อดีที่เห็นได้ชัดคือ ลูกค้าสามารถย้ายเว็บไปยัง Shared Host ต่างๆ ของ HostPacific.com ได้โดยไม่ต้องแก้ไข DNS และในกรณีที่เซิร์ฟเวอร์เกิดปัญหาใดๆ DNS กลุ่มนี้จะยังทำงานได้ จึงสามารถแก้ไข IP ไปยังที่อื่นที่ปลอดภัยได้ในเวลารวดเร็ว
บริษัทแนะนำให้ใช้ NS1 (เพื่อความรวดเร็ว) + NS2 เพื่อเป็นตัวทดแทนกรณีเกิดเหตุสุดวิสัยในประเทศ
ท่านอาจทิ้งค่า DNS ไว้เช่นเดิม หรือท่านสามารถเปลี่ยนมาใช้งาน DNS servers เหล่านี้ได้ตั้งแต่วันนี้เป็นต้นไป

We have added 3 Cloud DNS servers on HostPacific Cloud, as well as US-West and Asia-Singapore locations for our Shared Hosting customers. You may opt to use these 2 nameservers instead of the current ones for redundancy and security. It is fully optional as current nameservers will be kept operational.

In general case, you will not see any difference. The geographical dispersed nameservers will shine when there is a problem with the hosting machine or the facility. For example, during the recent crisis at CAT (not affecting us) where there had been several hours of a power outage, all servers there were rendered useless for many hours or over a day. This group of nameservers are in secured locations and we can help make change to the IP address for you in emergency case like that.
We recommend to always use NS1 above for name resolution speed and NS2 for redundancy. NS3 is totally optional and is not necessary.
